Crysta
With the switch from PlayOnline billing services to Square-Enix Account management, a new payment system referred to as Crysta was implemented.
Crysta is an option that allows players to pay for Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV, as well as to donate money to the Square Enix Tohoku Earthquake Crysta Relief Fund.
Crysta has a conversion rate of 100 Crysta for $1.00, and is available in increments of 500, 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000. Alternatly, you may now purchase precise amounts between 500 and 10,000 Crysta. There is a limit of purchasing 10,000 Crysta per month. Crysta can be purchased via ClickAndBuy or UltimatePay via PlaySpan. Using the PlaySpan system allows the player to buy Crysta with a verified PayPal account.
Alternately, players can use ClickAndBuy for automatic monthly account billing. This has elicited a rather strong negative response from the FFXI community as ClickAndBuy is seen as a fairly disreputable company by many.
