In the year 527 CE, the Republic of Bastok established a Department of Commerce. That year, the Department created the Byne to be the official currency of Bastok. In 800 CE, the Department of Commerce developed paper money. Common denominations were One, 100, and 10,000.
The Byne was taken out of circulation after The Currency Union of 868. Due to its rarity, it is sought after by collectors.
