Assault rank determines which Assault Missions you can undertake. They are organized in the following hierarchy:

You begin at Private Second Class and can rank up to First Lieutenant by collecting Rank Points. In order to increase your rank, you need to accumulate 25 Rank Points after receiving your current badge. "Extra" Rank Points will not carry over and count towards your next badge, so try to plan your Assaults so you don't waste them.
- New Assault Missions are worth 5 rank points
- Repeated Assault Missions are worth 1 rank point each.
Captain does not have a Rank Point requirement, but instead requires that you have completed every Assault.
