Delivery Box NPCs allow sending items and gil to other characters, including your own. It is also where players may receive gil from Auction House sales or returns of unsold items. Players can access their Delivery Box (both Send and Receive functions) from their Mog House and Mog Garden. Otherwise, NPCs typically found next to any Auction House provide a Send function only.

Gil can only be sent to one recipient at a time until it is received and only up to 1 million. Receiving gil has no such limitation, for instance from Auction House sales.

No more than 8 items may be sent at a time pending receipt. If an item has not been claimed by the recipient, it will remain as "Sent" in the Delivery Box of the sender. It can then be cancelled and reclaimed.

The Delivery Box may hold up to 256 items pending pickup by the recipient. Items are queued in order of time sent when more than 8 items are awaiting pickup. In the past, sending items to oneself and the "Return" (to sender) function served as an extended, although tedious, inventory storage. This remains a helpful feature to hold several of the same Rare Rare items, such as NM pops or EXP bonus rings, etc.

There is a forced 15 seconds delay between accessing the Delivery Box, originally introduced to alleviate server congestion (lowered from an initial 30 seconds delay).

Certain items are not eligible for delivery and are flagged "Not sendable" in the item's description on the wiki. Items that are deliverable to other characters on the same PlayOnline account are flagged as "CanSendPOL". In-game they will have a blue "Alt" tag visible on the item description box. As of the May 2011 update, certain Exclusive Exclusive items were allowed to be sent to characters on the same PlayOnline account. The general categories of items that cannot be sent are as follows:

This is not an exhaustive list.

  • Artifact equipment, Ultimate Weapons.
  • Moogle storage slips.
  • Items related to campaign codes.
  • Quest-related items.
  • Mission reward items, add-on bonus items.
  • Items purchased with Guild Points, and nation rank-related items.
  • Items related to the Trial of the Magians.
  • Many AugRank.png Augmented items, but some CAN be sent.
