Lore
Glanzfaust literally translates from German to "Shiny Fists," but in official documents is referred to as "Fists of Glory." It first appeared in Final Fantasy XI and has been featured in a number of Final Fantasy games since.
The official English text from The Myriad Arms of Balrahn states:
As the name entails, these weapons transform the wearer's fists into instruments of glorious destruction. Many consider them to be the only remaining legacy of that unmatched Galkan pugilist of Bastok, Dalha, dear friend to Ironman Mayer and undisputed champion of the Bastok Mines' martial games.
How the mythic weapon made its way to Aht Urghan is uncertain. In 498 C.E., Bastokan President Meyer dispatched a delegate to the Near East to establish diplomatic relations. It is possible it was given as a gift.
