New Year 2018/Guide
Event Period
Monday, January 1, 2018, at 12:00 a.m. (PST) to Tuesday, January 16, at the same hour.
Festive Fenrir
Fenrir will be prowling the following areas throughout the event. Trading specific items to him will grant special effects and/or items...and perhaps something a little special if you trade him some gil!
Speak to the one at the very end of the line to learn more.
NPC: Festive Fenrir
Areas: West Ronfaure / East Ronfaure / La Theine Plateau / Valkurm Dunes / Jugner Forest / Batallia Downs / North Gustaberg / South Gustaberg / Konschtat Highlands / Passhow Marshlands / Rolanberry Fields / Beaucedine Glacier / Western Altepa Desert / Eastern Altepa Desert / West Sarutabaruta / East Sarutabaruta / Tahrongi Canyon / Buburimu Peninsula / Meriphataud Mountains / Sauromugue Champaign / The Sanctuary of Zi'Tah / Yuhtunga Jungle / Yhoator Jungle / Qufim Island / Xarcabard
Three Tarutaru Summoners are riding Fenrirs. The first is wearing the Evoker's Attire Set, the second the Summoner's Attire Set, and the third the Caller's Attire Set.
- Trading items to the lead Festive Fenrir can result in receiving a 60 second duration Enthunder cast on yourself or receiving a Cait Sith Carving or Galette des Rois food item.
- Trading gil to the last Festive Fenrir will result in receiving a New Year's Pouch signed with your name. The pouch contains how much gil you traded.
- You can use your New Year's Pouch to check how much gil is in it, but it won't be used or give you the gil.
- You have to trade it to another player for them to be able to use it and get the gil.
Event Stalls
The moogles in the following locations will be selling Dream Hats and Snowman Caps, as well as other Starlight Celebration-themed items throughout the event.
Dream Hat +1
You may obtain a Dream Hat +1 from your moogle if you set San d'Orian Tree, Bastokan Tree, and Windurstian Tree in your Mog House layout.
This must be done from the Mog Safe 1 and not 2.
After the next conquest tally your moogle will reward you with the hat. If it does not then you must remove any conflicting items such as the Galley Kitchen first, and then wait for the next tally.
Frosty Cap
Synthesizing an ordinary Snowman Cap together with "something snowy" ( Brilliant Snow) will produce a Frosty Cap.
- As a level 1 Alchemy synth, it is inscribable if using a Terra Crystal instead of an Earth Crystal.
- However, storing the Frosty Cap with a Porter Moogle on Storage Slip 19 will cause the signature to be lost.

- Speaking to Ake or Ome at the Odyssean Passage will reward players with an Ake-Ome Spirit that lets them possess a New Year Mandragora in Monstrosity.

Bring cheer to those in need!
The moogles have cleverly hidden seven types of Tenshodo trading cards across the land and challenged the Goblins to find them. But the cunning Goblins, determined to come out on top in the contest, have taken to riding chocobos, and that simply isn't fair, kupo!
Southern San d'Oria / Northern San d'Oria
Bastok Markets / Bastok Mines
Windurst Waters (north side) / Windurst Woods
Trading cards can occasionally be found by examining overturned soil in the following locations. Get there before the goblins beat you to it!
West Ronfaure / La Theine Plateau / Jugner Forest / Batallia Downs / South Gustaberg / Konschtat Highlands / Pashhow Marshlands / Rolanberry Fields / East Sarutabaruta / Tahrongi Canyon / Meriphataud Mountains / Sauromugue Champaign.
The odds of receiving trading cards increases with the more people you have in your party. Team up with other adventurers to increase your odds of success!
- Overturned soil spots will appear in zones randomly. Beating the Goblin Rider to the spot will either reward you with a card or pop a Wayward Worm that will pop out, cast Bind, and disappear.
