Pathos
From FFXI Wiki
Pathos is the name given to the limits placed upon players by the psionic field present inside Salvage areas or caused by certain conditions in Nyzul Isle. There are 5 types of Pathos:
Name | Effect |
---|---|
Encumberment | Inability to equip armor and/or weapons |
Obliviscence | Inability to use a support job |
Impairment | Inability to use job abilities and weapon skills |
Omerta | Inability to use magic |
Debilitation | The severe hampering of attributes (STR, VIT, DEX, AGI, INT, MND, CHR, HP, and MP) |
The five pathos above are automatically applied upon entering any Salvage area and can only be removed by fulfilling certain conditions. The conditions differ for Level 75 Salvage and Level 99 Salvage.
Pathos may also be applied in Nyzul Isle Investigation or Nyzul Isle Uncharted Area Survey from discovery by or the destruction of Archaic Gears or randomly when ascending to a floor. In Nyzul Isle, Pathos take on a more specific form and can be any of the following:
- Specific base stat reduction
- Increased casting time or decreased attack speed
- Job Ability or Weapon Skills restriction
- Inability to use a particular type of magic. (Summoning, Blue, White, Black, Bard Songs, or Ninjutsu)
Pathos in Nyzul Isle are only removed by ascending to another floor.
