Spot the Difference
Talk to Estiliphire in Souther San d'Oria (H-9) to begin the game. He gives you a basic overview of the game, and the premise is simple: Spot the difference! For PC Users, you must hit the Enter Key whenever a different motion or piece of gear is shown. You have sixty seconds to spot as many differences as you can, and you must spot at least seven differences to win your prize: 3 Melon Snowcones, which bestow a meager +10% HP for five minutes. Those with quick fingers be warned! If you prematurely tap the Enter Key, you will automatically lose the game and forfeit your 100 gil. It can be extremely frustrating for some scenes you may know the difference before it is shown by ruling out the other possible choices; but you cannot hit Enter until the difference is shown or you will lose.
For example; in the first cutscene the two Elvaan female will always be dressed alike, in full green Jupon gear. However, as they run towards Victory Gate there might be a few distinct differences. The Elvaan on the left might start running after the Elvaan on the right, or the Elvaan on the left may first turn forty-five degrees before settling into her final position. The third variation of this cutscene is that each performs a different emote upon arriving at Victory Gate.
So the cutscenes are as follows:
- Two Elvaan females running towards Victory Gate - The difference is in their emotes and positioning! (Three variations)
- Four Elvaan soldiers, two with shaggy black hair and two with hair pulled back - The difference is in their weapons! (Two variations)
- Six Tarutaru all lined up in a row - The difference is in the hair colour! (Three variations)
- Two Hume males dressed in various harness sets with subtle differences - The difference is in their gear! (Three variations)
- A small crowd of NPCs, one Elvaan female, two Elvaan males, a Tarutaru girl and a Tarutaru boy - The difference is in their emotes! (Five variations)
- The final, and perhaps most difficult cutscene is the last one before they loop. It consists of two Tarutaru females and two Tarutaru males constantly trading places after walking past a beam. An easy way to see if something is "different" is to look to see if there are two of the same gender facing each other. They can pass by the beams several times before reaching this posistion. (Countless posistions)
Unfortunately, as of this time holding the record seems to do absolutely nothing other than bragging rights. You will still receive 3 Melon Snowcones regardless of matched differences.
