Procced him with a distortion. Rudra's made the distortion so it wasn't thunder based. That was a blue proc. After we procced him i continued the SC to a darkness with Entropy and it White procced him. After which he took 70k damage from something he should have taken 20k damage to. So he just kinda melted. This dispels the idea that the procs are thunder based though. I also didn't know that if you proc him while he's procced it's a white proc. Any info on this? Finally got around to testing that, nope. A climactic Rudra's was able to proc it. It seems any spike damage is capable of proccing him. Lokixero (talk) 06:18, 11 August 2018 (EDT)

I've recently fought this guy a number of times for the shells, meleeing/tanking as BLU/WAR. Trusts: Apururu, Karaha-Baruha, Joachim, Matsui-P, Shantotto II. Observations:

• It is dangerous to call any Trust that will dispel Ayapec's buffs willy-nilly. The damage from multiple Bubble Showers and strong Enwater can easily overwhelm Trust healers, you should therefore be prepared to stagger Ayapec whenever he uses it;
• Ayapec starts with Scissor Guard and Metallic Body as described. If you are tanking, build some enmity quickly to avoid Shantotto's untimely death, as this will slow down your fight greatly. You should be able to land a WS right before his Stoneskin activates, otherwise enmity spells/moves are recommended. I definitely needed more than just Provoke;
• While buffed, he will use Big Scissors exclusively;
• The Bubble Shower phase follows even if no dispel is used, possibly because Scissor Guard then wears off by itself;
• Staggering Ayapec is easy in this phase and will cancel any remaining Bubble Showers;
• Whether staggered or not, he'll then buff up again and revert to Big Scissors;
• Matsui-P was able to stun Ayapec's TP moves reliably, though it seemed as if stunning Bubble Shower made it harder to stagger him.

Personally I have not seen any procs in the first pattern, but that might just be due to Scissor Guard negating most of my melee damage. An effective strategy with Real People would be to use Dispel (or equivalent) on Scissor Guard, followed immediately by a skillchain and magic burst. If timed well (first WS should ideally land while Bubble Shower is readying) this should reliably stagger him and prevent most or all AOE damage. A longer skillchain or simply unloading lots of damage should make him go down before or shortly after the stagger effect ends, even if you don't get a second proc. --Eithin (talk) 16:49, 3 May 2021 (EDT)
