Good guide. Here are some alterations I made to suit my situation.
2x Red Moko Grass from Meriri for slightly less than the kit (if you're super poor/tight).
Bird feathers were not very available and I didn't want to farm so I did Hemp Gorget to 43 - this is really cheap if you can snag the grass threads for 45g each from the guild, but you do need a lot of free space. NPC it.
I started insect fletchings at 43 because cocoon supply was limited - no regrets. 5k a stack, plenty available, and got a 0.3 and a bunch of 0.2s.
Silk cloth caps at 53 so you can easily take it past that, to 57 or 58 before it really slows down. They sell decently on the AH, and I can use them in other crafts - it's still profit/savings buying the threads from the guild.
Karakul thread and cloth are good in the mid 50s as an alternative to gnat and apkallu fletchings. You can then start a little early on the black choco fletchings if you want, they will break, but are not that expensive for this level.
