Brahmsz, I do not understand the intention of sets that you tag with the phrase: "This HQ set is just a benchmark and not indicative of the next step forward."
Do you mean the set is not meant to be a full set? Single Swaps? What is the purpose of these sets? -- Wyrd
Hi Wyrd, thanks for reaching out. When I use the term "benchmark", it's a simplified way of saying "Use this as a comparison." or "This is a general goal post as a player you should build towards." PLD has a range of options for achieving specific goals and none of these sets are set in stone as "Best in Slot, no exceptions." --Brahmsz (talk) 12:44, 5 February 2021 (EST)
Fastcast set using Odyssean Greaves
any reason why there is no mention about Odyssean Greaves for use in a Fastcast set?
Is it because the lack of HP and PDT? they are a really viable option as I find that majority of the time i am tanking multiple mobs and not always able to line them up for blocks so would be using SIRD. They do offer Fast Cast +10% in total with Augments--Capgames (talk) 12:31, 4 May 2022 (EDT)
Hi there Capgames. Apologies as I'm only just seeing this now. Your assumption is correct that I didn't list Odyssean Greaves in my Fast Cast sets because of HP value as well as lack of PDT/MDT/DT.
Also one small correction, Odyssean Greaves offer a maximum of 11% Fast Cast with the +6% augment.
While I like to believe my (stated) intention is obvious, the guide is largely meant to be a comparison tool. Hence why I use the term "Benchmark." If Ody. Greaves are working for you and you are able to compensate for the stat changes, great! --Brahmsz (talk) 19:41, 20 May 2022 (EDT)
Is it 80% or 87.5% With Aegis?
https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Damage_Taken#Magic_Damage_Taken Lists Aegis as up to 87.5% MDT, but this pages says 80%. Which number is correct?
Hi there person who left no signature! Thank you for pointing out that typo, I'll be sure to correct that. Cheers! --Brahmsz (talk) 19:43, 20 May 2022 (EDT)
Some math errors
under the User:Brahmsz sets i found A couple inconsistencies in stated total stats, sorry for being a bit picky but as a community guide, accuracy is important
Cure SIRD (Capped) - Cure potency is not +50% its a total of 41%
Phalanx SIRD - Total Phalanx + is 15 not 25 --Capgames (talk) 06:14, 3 June 2022 (EDT)
Hi again Capgames, lemme look this over real quick...
Cure SIRD Set: going top to bottom, left to right: 3+4(Earring, assuming top Unity rank) +11(Body) +11(Hands) +10(Back) +7+4(Feet, including augment) = 50.
Phalanx SIRD: Typo here, it's 20. Body, Hands, Back, & Feet are all +5 for a total of +20. Will correct that shortly.
