Math notes for Cocoon Defense Boost
The page's notes said
Cocoon defense multiplier: ~1.83x.
- Cocoon has a +100% Defense Boost for monsters/monipulators that only appears to be 83% because the Crawler has another +20% passive defensive bonus, a species bonus.
- The formula before using Cocoon would be Defense + (Defense * 0.2)
- Final Defense = Defense * 1.2
- The formula after using Cocoon would be Defense + (Defense * 0.2) + (Defense * 1.0) =
- Final Defense = Defense * 2.2
- Comparing the two steps: 2.2 / 1.2 = 1.833333
- Example : Defense appears to be 1500, but is actually 1250 [+ 250]. Cocoon raises it by 100% to 2750 (1250x2 [+ 250]). Tester records a 83% increase (2750/1500)
