Critical Hit Rate Testing
- 30/30 Crit WSs with 300TP, Atma of the Razed Ruins, Atma of the Gnarled Horn, and Atma of the Sanguine Scythe along with 5/5 crit merits and no crit rate from gear.
- It's probably ≥25% bonus at 300%.
- I got a non-crit after removing Atma of the Gnarled Horn, but it took quite a while (Crit Rate <45%). I'd estimate the 300TP Bonus is around 40%.
- Put on Rancor Collar and tried again. I didn't get any non-crits after 38 WSs, and then my Visitant status buffs started wearing off. Whatever, if it's not 40% then it's pretty close.
200TP is really the relevant anchor point here, but it's also harder to hit than 300TP. --Byrthnoth 18:19, 9 December 2011 (EST)
I did more testing starting here and going on for a few pages. Including the other info on this page, the ultimate results were:
- 300 TP
- Non-crit at 55% Crit rate (Razed Ruins only)
- 88 consecutive crits at a 60% crit rate (Razed Ruins + Rancor Collar)
- There is only a 1.1% chance of critting 88 times in a row if the real crit rate is 35%. So it is probably +40% Crit rate at 300 TP
- 200 TP (200~204 TP really)
- Non-crit at 75% Crit rate (Razed Ruins and Gnarled Horn)
- 64 consecutive crits at a 80% crit rate (Razed Ruins, Gnarled Horn, and Rancor Collar)
- There is only a 3.8% chance of critting 64 times in a row if the real crit rate is 15%. So it is probably +20% Crit rate at 200 TP
There is also probably not an attack bonus/penalty (see the link), although I haven't excluded a small one of either. --Byrthnoth
June 2014 Critical Hit Rate re-testing
3000 TP:
- Atma of the Gnarled Horn and 5/5 merits gives me a base critical hit rate of 45%. I saw a non-crit within 30 WSs.
- Adding Rancorous Mantle (50% critical hit rate) allowed me to go 62 WSs without seeing a non-crit.
Assuming that the boundary is a 5% multiple above 40% (so 45%, 50%, or >=55%), we can rule out >=55% because we saw a non-crit within about 30 WSs with a 45% base critical hit rate. We can't rule out 50%, and the odds of seeing 62 consecutive crits if the critical hit rate boost was actually +45% (95% total rate) would be 0.95^62 = 4.1% chance. So we can be pretty sure that the critical hit rate boost at 3000 TP is 50%. --Byrthnoth (talk) 11:14, 23 June 2014 (EDT)
