Talk:Gold Thread
From FFXI Wiki
Spinning
I have confirmed the Spinning recipe does work, but the yields make it a bad deal. If you get goldsmithing support, you can Tier 2 this recipe (25% HQ rate). HQ distribution is 12/16 HQ1, 3/16 HQ2, 1/16 HQ3.
- For the non-spinning recipe, this works out to a pre-break average of 3.16 gold thread/synth.
- For the spinning recipe (3x as many materials), this works out to a pre-break average of 8.25 gold thread/synth.
So you consume 3x as many materials (minus 2 earth crystals, plus 1 spindle) to produce 2.61x as many gold thread. It's just a bad deal. They should have made this 2x materials for 2x yield and just scaled everything down. --Byrthnoth (talk) 23:06, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
