Talk:Hanbi
From FFXI Wiki
Strategy: Have your tank hit Hanbi while DD deal with ads. Once ads are dead DD focus on killing Hanbi. Rinse and repeat!
Notes on the fight:
- Has a few different normal attacks
- Hand smash into the ground = point blank AOE around him, inflicts Stun, wipes all shadows
- Punch combo = physical damage, inflicts Bind, absorbed by shadows
- Casts Dark Knight spells including Absorb-Att, Absorb-TP, tier IV single target elemental spells, Impact, and most notably, Dread Spikes
- You can absorb all the single target spells, including Impact, with shadows, so you can watch for them and react to them if you have the fast cast for it
- Dispellable as BLU using Blank Gaze, so make sure to watch for and react to it
- Adds are demon type enemies, and appear to be susceptible to dark based sleeps
- As BLU, a Dream Flower worked 95% of the time, which allowed me to ignore them
- Aquaveil, Carcharian Verve, or a good spell interrupt set helps to land it between the multiple hits
- Unconfirmed, but appeared to take more damage when you use a TP move when he is readying one of his
- My CDC's would normally hit for 15-30k, but I had some spike up to 50-60k for seemingly no reason except for they coincided with his TP moves
- Soloed with trusts: Qultada, Joachim, Koru Moru, Ygnas, Yoran Oran (mostly just wanted 2 WHM's just in case)
- Never had to turtle, stayed in TP set the whole time, and even swapped into some TH gear without issue
- Fights were usually 1-2 minutes on a decent geared, Almace-Colada using BLU, but can go longer if he prefers to constantly use hand smash into the ground attacks to keep stunning you
