Solo

Very Difficult Solo for RNG/DRG with trusts:

--Resetti (talk) 1:45, 21 May 2020 (CST)

One Strategy

Party Setup: PLD THF THF GEO BRD WHM
Positioning: Melee on one paw, mages on the other

THFs TA spam on PLD doing darkness. Alternate feints.
WHM uses Esuna and Accession/Divine caress to handle blind from Hurricane Wing. Curaga 3 after each AoE move. Barfira for breath damage. Will need to reapply pro/shell/barfira after each Horrid Roar.
GEO uses precision/torpor and helps cure PLD.
BRD uses march/minuetx2/madrigal or march/minuet/madrigal/scherzo

At the start of the fight, let the PLD position himself/herself first. Next both THF,still unengaged in combat, have to stack their models behind the PLD such that they do not trick attack each other; This is because it is extremely hard to align models while in combat. You can try align by approaching from the back but you risk being hit by dragon breath which will 1 shot you. Only weapon skill+WS chain using Trick Attack, you can expect a early wipe, unless your a believer that you cannot pull hate with 5 to 9k ruda + 10k to 18k darkness skill chain will not pull hate.

If you have a decent RDM to provide silence support, then baraero should take care of the rest of the elements, although you still have to take care of blindness. Dragon breath only hits front conal, fire elemental, and you should be standing on paws anyway.

Low Man Suggestion

  • MNK RDM GEO
  • Subtle blow helps alot.
  • Geo Fury, Indi-Precision.
  • RDM should land Silence first, then Slow2, Paralyze2, Blind2. Extremely resistant to Addle, Distract, and Frazzle. With the Wyrm Paralyzed, Slowed, and Silenced, the only real danger is from his Breath Attacks. Terror slows the fight. Barstonra helps reduce the terror timer.
  • May have a Geomancy resistance as Frailty seemed to make little to no difference in Damage Versus Fury.
  • His Dispel does not remove Entrusted bubbles.

RDM/NIN solo

This guy is a bit of a pain in the ass compared to other UNM135's for a Red Mage. But I figured out a decent method.

Gear

Melee set: weapons: Crocea Mors/Daybreak (can sub daybreak for anything else)

   sets.engaged = {ammo="Ginsen",
       head="Malignance Chapeau",neck="Anu Torque",ear1="Sherida Earring",ear2="Suppanomimi",
       body="Malignance Tabard",hands="Malignance Gloves",ring2="Petrov Ring",ring1="Ilabrat Ring",
       back=gear.melee_cape,waist="Sailfi belt +1",legs="Malignance Tights",feet="Malignance Boots"}

Enfeeble set:

   sets.midcast['Enfeebling Magic'].dMND = {main="Daybreak",sub={name="Ammurapi Shield", priority=10},ammo="Regal Gem",
       head="Vitiation Chapeau +3",neck="Duelist's Torque +2", ear1="Snotra Earring", ear2="Malignance Earring",
       body="Lethargy Sayon +1", hands="Lethargy Gantherots +1", ring1="Stikini Ring +1", ring2="Metamorph Ring +1",
       back=gear.mnd_cape, waist="Luminary Sash", legs="Chironic Hose", feet="Vitiation Boots +3"}

Enhancing set: 661 skill, after ML+gear for pure enhancing spells

Food: Grape Daifuku

Trusts
  • AAEV
  • Amchuchu
  • Yoran-Oran (UC)
    • He'll die because he's a moron, It's okay though, Monberaux can do this alone.
  • Joachim
  • Monberaux
Method
  • Precast buffs
    • Barblind, Barfire, Enthunder or Enwater suggested
  • Pop
  • Silence
    • Extremely important
  • Saboteur
  • Stymie
  • Distract III
  • Paralyze II, Slow II, Blind II
    • Don't bother with Addle or Frazzle, they are very difficult to land. If Distract misses the fight will take a lot longer because of Hurricane Wing spam.
  • Autoattack it down

I didn't bother using weaponskills until the very end. Pay special attention to your tanks, if one is low or if both are terrored, back off and keep them up. They are your full-dispel sponges. once you get to 4%, Seraph Blade, win.

Some added thoughts, it would be best to summon your Tanks first so that they're more easily put on Hidhaegg's feet. It's not the end of the world if they aren't there, but it may be a little bit harder to keep everyone alive. How I do this is engage, have tanks get hate, then position them and re-engage, but only if they're not in a good position. You have plenty of time before it tries to Spike Flail.

This could most definitely be done with less gear, it's more about being able to land enfeebles and keep your tanks up than anything

BLU solo

ML35 BLU/RUN Malignance and Tizona with proper Hybrid TP, White Wind and Magic Accuracy set. Used trust Sylvie, Joachim, Qultada, KoH and Monbereux. I healed trust myself with WhiteWind to avoid enmity issue, position shift and also to get out of low HP quickly. Fight is hard, Absolute terror is nasty (Everywhere), Breath (Front) can one shot and Spike Flail (Side near the back) kill trusts really fast if done twice in a row. However I found that two things really make the fight a breeze.

  • First I used Tropical Crepe to successfully land Silent Storm which make him really easier and avoid him casting Absolute Terror repeatedly that lead to multiple 15-60 seconds Terror. BarEarth and Flabra runes help if Silent doesn't land quickly. However, even if silenced, the position is key to kill it consistently.
  • Avoid front quickly so you or your trusts are not one shotted. I have found that approaching and hugging the Planar Rift while targeting it allow proper placement of trust in a row behind you. Then while still targeting and hugging it, you move around to rotate 90 degrees in one direction and pop the NM. The NM usually appears facing you which place your trusts on the side from the beginning. Quickly hit him once, so you trust doesn't follow you, and then rotate an additional 90 degrees so you end up on one of its front pawn on the side. I preferred the front right since it doesn't move while auto-attack making it easier to know you are at the right place. Then focus to land Silent Storm. Once silenced you are good to go without any Terror or one shot ability.
