This is just a theory but the shield invulnerability mechanics for this nm are different compared to other catare. Typical catare, have shields that switch between blunt, slashing, piercing, and magical damage. This nm requires a specific party member in the party to do the initial damage for the damage of the kind to start doing damage, this means that if the specific party member is the whm then the whm just be able to hit the nm and then blunt dd will be able to do damage; same theory for magical, whm just start magic damage for other magic dd to start doing damage. You may have multiple blunt dd in the party but without a specific party member to damage the shield and initiate the damage, then you will never be able to pierce the shield. This could also explain why you can rotate through all damage types but do 0 damage.
I'm not sure the above is correct, as a solo BLU I was always able to break it alone (my Requiescat is usually not strong enough to do it alone yet so I need another spell). Maybe the confusion is the difference between h2h and blunt in general as they are treated differently. --Mudcake (talk) 22:47, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
