Hoptoad seems like 100% hooked at 110 Fishing, was Lu Shang+1 and Fly Lure. - Wotasu
Is definitely a lower percentage with a normal rod, but doable all the same. - Brahmsz
I caught 15 hoptoads in 17 casts with Ebisu, Fly Lure, 93 skill, and smock (no Frog Fishing KI). The other two casts, I caught monsters. Djohn (talk) 22:22, 10 March 2023 (EST)
Caught 3 hoptoads with 12 casts using Bamboo Fishing Rod, 3 skill, and Lufaise Fly. It's one of the weakest rods, but didn't give any "bad feeling"s or breaks. Caught another 3 with Carbon Fishing Rod, but it took ~30 casts. --Shynoe (talk) 18:50, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
I was able to catch them at level 0 fishing with Lu Shang's, Fly Lure, and no added skill. The fishing minigame was not difficult at all. This was with no added skill, but may as well get advanced imagery from the guild to help with the bite rate. With +9 in skill, the bite rate was about 1 in 5. I caught 11 of them.
