Trust TH Testing

I recently edited the page to indicate that trusts can only obtain TH1, despite their job or level. I also listed every trust that can currently give TH. This was done following testing using Voidwatch, which indicates the TH level the mob died with when you open the chest after the mob dies. I killed the mob on a job with no native TH or gear used, after each trust had an opportunity to land the effect on the mob. Lusiphur (talk) 07:59, 19 January 2022 (EST)

Modern TH Effect Testing

In the last year, I personally performed a number of tests in game to confirm some of the facts in the "Applying Treasure Hunter" section. I am listing this here so other players can confirm it (and see the methods used) if they wish instead of taking someone's word for it. This was not an original notion of mine and had been discussed/"known" by the community. I simply did a test to confirm it.

As prep, I first confirmed that Hide was capable of removing THF from a mob's hate list. I did this with two characters. The THF pulled, the second character did a single melee round to get on the hate list, the THF still had the mob's attention. THF used Hide, the mob turned to second character. The THF removed Hide (actually via a Diaga landing on the THF that was in party and nearby). The second character warped out of zone. The mob went passive, despite the THF standing next to it.

I think utilized a THF and a RNG with Bounty Shot. The THF, with just THII, pulled the mob with a melee round. The RNG got on the mob's hate list. The THF used Hide, and then warped out just to go the extra mile. The mob turned to the RNG on the use of Hide. The RNG, with no gear to augment the JA, used Bounty Shout and the TH level increased to 3. This indicated the THF's TH II effect was still present on the mob. "Testing"

I did a bunch of SAs against L0 monsters today and recorded whether or not TH upgraded from 3 to 4. It's too small to mean anything, but here it is.

  • 20/39 : High DEX
  • 11/23 : Low DEX
  • 5/20 : AF3+2 hands/High DEX

Bottom line is that it looks like about a 50% upgrade rate.--Byrthnoth 19:13, 27 December 2011 (EST)
