We Are Vana'diel (Website)
We Are Vana'diel is a website Square Enix launched in July 2021 to promote the upcoming 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy XI. The website features weekly updates that continue presently.
Its contents fall under a few categories:
We Remember Vana'diel: A history timeline that included new behind the scenes commentary from the developers. Many of the unique and interesting entries were incorporated into BG's own The History of Final Fantasy XI articles.
We Illustrate Vana'diel: Concept and finished FFXI artwork galleries from numerous artists. The majority of this work has been previously published before on Merchandise and in Art Books.
We Discuss Vana'diel: Interviews with subjects sometimes critical to the development of Final Fantasy XI, creators who were former players, and sometimes individuals who have absolutely no relation or experience with FFXI at all. Generally for those with some experience with the game, they were given a "My Playlist" article and Youtube video where they selected some of their favorite FFXI music and offered a small blurb about each.

Off-site, Square accompanied the website with frequent Japanese Youtube videos in a series also titled We Remember Vana'diel featuring a roundtable of magazine contributors and personalities discussing FFXI. The roundtable would discuss memories of FFXI and various supplemental materials published only in Japan. These were, naturally, posted to the Japanese FFXI Youtube channel. The videos are a chore for someone who doesn't understand Japanese, even with translated subtitles from Youtube, and offer nothing much of value in return for it.
