Rhapsodies of Vana'diel (Song)
Rhapsodies of Vana'diel is the vocal ending theme of the Final Fantasy XI expansion of the same name. It was added in the November 2015 Version Update along with the finale of the expansion.
The song is a vocal arrangement based on Vana'diel March. The music was composed by Naoshi Mizuta and performed by RiRiKA (who had been a FFXI player herself) and MARiE of Phantasmagoric. The lyrics were written by Yaeko Sato.
Square requested that players submit emails with recordings of their voice. Mizuta said that a little under 700 total players submitted samples and that editing and mixing of their vocals took about a week. Mizuta estimated about 20-30% of submissions were from western players and 60% of them were male. The players whose samples were used were listed in the credits in-game.
