Talk:Dragoon Guide By Kaius
I didn't think Stardiver could Crit. I could be wrong? Something to look into though. I don't see it mentioned in game or on wiki and to my knowledge all weaponskills that can crit state it explicitly. Lokixero (talk) 16:42, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
All polearm WS can crit with Shining One. I added a little comment regarding that stardiver crit build, but it's hidden under the [Expand]. --Kaius (talk) 06:01, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Correction on Polearms
Gae Buide's Diarmuid is also capable of producing Distortion: Diarmuid > Diarmuid = Distortion > Diarmuid = Darkness.
There are many skillchains involving only Polearms that can create a Distortion - The relic WS is the only WS with the Distortion property inherent to the WS. --Kaius (talk) 06:01, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Spirit Link set

I dunno about the metamo ring in the Spirit Link set - or rather I guess I just don't like the HP to MP conversion in a set you'll be using in combat. (Postscript: also, since Spirit Link consumes your current HP, you're only adding to the HP you lose by using metamo.) My approach is to load up on defensive gear with MND as a bonus so that it's super safe to use. I don't even use the Vishap Armet since it's such a small bump to potency. I think there's a lot of minmaxing you could do to get a big fat number on Spirit Link like equipping all your Wyvern HP and Wyvern LV gear, but it's just not practical. I've listed my actual-use set below purely as an indication of what I mean, but for the purposes of the guide, maybe it'd be best to list the essentials like the Peltast Vambraces and Ptero Greaves and suggest filling the rest of the slots with defensive gear?

Notes:
You can also throw in stuff that you might actually already be carrying like Hydrocera, Salire Belt, Flashward Earring or Rufescent Ring just to put some more MND in slots that aren't being used but you'd be picking up peanuts - might be better to just consider defensive items for more DEF etc. (still picking up peanuts with defensive gear in all the other slots, just with a different seasoning).

Also, about the idle set from the guide:

That's so much +HP that I think you'd always be looking over your shoulder for skellington blood agro. For one, I think you'd get more out of a Carrier's Sash to help with resists (lowish Gleti MEVA notwithstanding). But maybe it's better to reimagine this a regen/regain idle for the occasions when you need it and go for something a bit more practical for the basic idle. It's also worth considering movement speed since if you're doing Sortie, that's a lot of corridors to be running down without it.

Thanks, yea I do tend agree with you on the Spirit Link. Honestly I had not been using those MND pieces in my sets. I found them while doing more research for this guide. I will update it and add some of the notes you call out here. Regarding idle, I think this is definitely one of the most "personal preference" sets. Even with plat moogle, it's not enough of an HP swing to drop into yellow. Again, lots of flex here to do whatever you like best. Ill try to clarify in the guide. --Kaius (talk) 16:23, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
Hope I'm adding to the conversation correctly. I have multiple idle sets, including regen, regain, DT, and PDT (for me with DT and Regen for Wyvern). Where and how I'm idling dictates which I use. - Galkapryme
Cataclysm WS set needed
DRG/WHM is awesome for quick merits, and maybe the only regular use case in these modern times.
Well, Show me your set!! --Kaius (talk) 05:57, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
DRG Cataclysm
IDK how to make sets here. https://www.ffxiah.com/item-sets/383024 --Smii (talk) 19:38, 12 July 2024 (UTC)

Crit DRG
https://www.ffxiah.com/item-sets/379001
I made this set a while back before the TVR rings were shown. Updated and played with it whenever I can. This set works best with Rhongo, and doesn't need the buff below I just wanted to theorycraft a 100% crit drg. I make no claims of it being the best, but it exists and it's fun. I've seen 10-14k auto attack rounds on dumb stuff like Locus mobs, and it topped the parse on v25 procne and dealan-dhe.
51% crit on gear. 21% crit from a basic SMN, 10-14 with good rolls from COR, 5% from merits, and 5% from Stardiver's debuff brings us to 92-96% crit. +2 neck and jse earrings can get you to 100% before the DEX/AGI check. Peltast leggings +3 are great too, drops some crit rate for damage, ymmv.
