Post-Feb 2022 version update note

• The guide below was written before the February 2022 version update.
• The Recycle Bin feature that was added can assist solo players.
  • Dropped items will be placed into a temporary inventory and can be returned.
  • Allows multiple Rare items such as Unlit Lanterns to be carried temporarily until they change zones.
    • Only 1 copy of a Rare item can be in your Inventory, but multiple copies of the same Rare item can be in the Recycle Bin.
• Make sure to get the Blue flame before farming the other unlit lanterns and flames, as you will need to zone to get to those others.

Getting There

What you Need:

• Utilize this map.
• This NM requires at least 3 total Unlit Lanterns to reach. These lanterns will change names and remain rare/ex physical items in your inventory.
  • Unfortunately, these Unlit Lanterns are rare/ex, meaning you may only hold one at a time. So a new lantern must be obtained after obtaining each flame. This will take time unless you can find players to help you.
    • Lanterns are only dropped from:
      • Tonberry Jinxer in the Yhoator Jungle
      • Tonberry Maledictor in the Temple of Uggalepih
      • Tonberry Imprecator in the Den of Rancor.
• You will need the following lanterns lit by trading Unlit Lanterns to the correct alters:
  • Flame of Rancor (Rancor Flame) x2
  • Blue Flame of Rancor (Blue Rancor) x1
  • Crimson Flame of Rancor (Crimson Rancor) x1

How to Do It:

• You are basically after the blue dot, red dot, and then the orange dot on the composite map.
• You must do the following:
• Obtain an Unlit Lantern, and if you have one:
  • Take the Unity level 122 warp to Yhoator Jungle and the zone is right behind you at (J-7) (North East). This will zone in to the Den on Map 7.
  • Make a right, avoid the holes, and then the next left at the Grounds Tome. Continue hugging the right wall until you reach the four way split near some tonberries. Proceed straight (North) and you will soon see the Blue Flame.
    • Trade a lantern to the Altar of Rancor to obtain a Flame of Blue Rancor (blue dot on map).
• Warp out of the zone.
• Obtain a new Unlit Lantern if solo.
  • Now either ideally use the Homepoint #1 to the zone or use the Paintbrush of souls door from the Temple of Uggalepih to enter.
  • If entering from the paintbrush door, hug the left wall until reaching the Crimson Flame (red dot on map) of Rancor. If entering from the homepoint, just run south east while hugging that left wall.
    • Trade a lantern to the Altar of Rancor to obtain a Flame of Crimson Rancor.
  • Obtain a new Unlit Lantern if solo.
  • Head back upstairs to point A on the map (hug the wall right) until the road forks right before the zone back to the temple (H-4/5).
  • Proceed south to (I/J-13) or (D/E-5 one or the other) to the Flame of Rancor (orange dot on map).
    • Do not fall in any holes!
  • Trade a lantern to the Altar of Rancor to obtain a Rancor Flame.
    • You do not need to obtain any more lanterns.
  • Round the corner to the right (don't fall in the hole) to point C on the map. This takes you to the old Hakutaku pop spot with the first gate. Continue hugging the right wall until you see the gate at (G-7/8).
    • Trade a Rancor Flame to the "Lantern" things next to the gate.
      • Is this a good time to mention after trading that the lanterns turn back into Unlit Lanterns?
      • If you are solo you will have to run back the way you came to get another Rancor Flame. The lanterns will stay lit until the door opens, and then close about a minute later and go out.
  • Once past the gate, the road forks four ways. Take the North West path (do not fall down the cliffs at this fork basically) and proceed to (F/G-6) to another gate.
    • Trade a Flame of Blue Rancor and Flame of Crimson Rancor.
  • The Tonberry Tracker is right ahead, and spawns every 24 minutes. The testimony is about a 20% drop rate.
