Okay. I'm going to basically compile a list of things I don't like about XI and should be fixed. (Work in progress)

1. Macro Pallets

  • They're too short. Six lines of text that's too short to really fit a good shout into. With the heavy amount of gear swapping I do on my jobs, having three macros to put on all my HMP gear is fucking ridiculous.
  • Ten pallets are not enough for someone who's leveling a lot of jobs. There should be at least one for every job. Twenty at least in total. Done twenty times over.

2. Search Comments

  • Allow them to stay on after you logout and login again.

3. Skillchains and magic bursting

  • Make it more worthwhile with extra damage from both. (Planned to be done)

4. Check system

  • If it says Too Weak to be worthwhile with low evasion and defense, it shouldn't be able to rape you.
  • If it says Low Evasion, the odds of anyone missing the target should be minimal at best, not 50% like it seems to be.

5. Instant Warp

  • Should be instant. Not what seems like a ten second cast.

6. White Mage

  • Give it someway to recover MP without actually resting. (Done, though it requires meleeing and a Mythic Weapon Skill)

7. Black Mage

  • Stop screwing them over. NM resist rates? Fine. We'll get used to it. An entire expansion of common EXP mobs with a perma-reflect effect? Thanks for the anal probe.
  • Damage/MP ratio for Stone is better than Thunder IV. This makes no sense.

8. Summoner

  • Make it worthwhile to level without being a pathetic healer. (To be looked into)

9. Hand-to-Hand

  • Classify it as a two-handed weapon when using knuckles or something.

10. Red Mage

  • With enspells and some nice swords, give them more incentive to melee. (Planned to be done, again)

11. Ranger

  • Barrage, Sharpshot and Unlimited Shot shouldn't generate as much enmity when used as they do. Clarified: These abilities can help produce massive amounts of damage when used properly. To add insult to injury, the mentioned abilities generate about the same enmity as a provoke when used.

12. Dragoon

  • Make the Wyvern a little more offensively tougher. (Done, I think?)

13. Corsair

  • Uh...what does Loaded Deck do? It's too wordy and confusing. I get it now.

14. Promies

  • There's a warp in Vazhal that allows you to skip every floor if you've beaten it already. The other three areas need this for us ENM buffs.

15. Cross-Zone shout

  • If it wasn't for the fact that shouts in whitegate can only be heard in whitegate, nobody would be there. Make Al Zhabi people able to hear what's going on in whitegate and the other way around only when besieged is not occuring or link to lower jeuno.

16. Besieged

  • If the forces are advancing, make them show up at excactly ten minutes after they start advancing.
  • Give an incentive to intercept forces in Wajaom or Bhaflau.

17. Special Task Force

  • Be able to send them messages within the game. It doesn't need to be responded to right away, but having to send messages through the POL viewer makes people forget who and what is going on.

18. Stacks

  • Certain things need to be stackable. Going back to an old ZAM quote, "Why is it that you can carry 70 king size beds with canopies on your back, but you can't carry more than sixty pint-sized bottles of juice/wine/potion/either?

19. Calls

  • They have merits, but I can't stand certain calls because they're loud and high pitched.

20. Spell Recasts

  • If a job ability isn't ready and you attempt to use it, it says the time remaining. If you do the same for a spell, it just says "Unable to cast spells at this time." This isn't useful.

21. Proxy Server

  • Don't use one. The fact that XI uses a global proxy for non-Japanese players is really frigging annoying. Source: Wireshark

22. Half Assed Meleeing White Mage

  • Club skill should be A+ not B+.
  • Melee gear has serious flaws. Reverend Mail is too hard to obtain yet provides a pretty small bonus for the headache that is Shen. Here's an idea for better stats: DEF: 50 +5 STR, +5 DEX, +10 Accuracy, +10 Attack, +10 Evasion, -10 MND, -50 MP, adds Refresh effect. Then maybe it won't suck. Other than that and Healer’s Mitts (+1), there’s really nothing great to help.
  • Best clubs in the game require camping a ferry for literally days, if not weeks. Make the spawn conditions more common and/or increase the drop rate to 100%. There's better now.
  • Conversely: Hexa Strike is awesome.
