Historical Significance

• The Ranguemont Pass, which is actually many tunnels linked together, has long been considered the only road through the "Northern Wall", thus it has been heavily guarded by the Royal Knights. However, about 200 years ago, the Orcs cleared another route across the mountains and sent their armies one after another, forcing the Kingdom of San d'Oria to end its previous policy of moving south to devote more troops to protecting its northern flank. The name originally comes from the legend of the monk Ranguemont, who believed a rumor that the Gates of Paradise could be found to the north beyond the Achaque Mountains. He carved out the tunnel with his fists a long time ago, or so the story goes. [1]
