Talk:Neak
Party
Assuming you are using the terrain of Reisenjima to your advantage (use the hill at #7 with the lady bugs or something so your backline doesn't get hit) this fight is a straightforward tank + MB setup. Otherwise your backline will get wrecked by chainspell and you will need to start bringing a GEO for vex or something. The only difference is you need members to WS to break the DT on Discordant Note.
Four great players can go ahead and four man zerg this, but more conventional, non Idris LS setups will want a decent party. Due to the number of people in the LS I find myself going with 9 or 10 people.
RUN WHM RDM COR/sam // SCH BLM/sch BLM/sch BLM/sch BLM/sch GEO.
Have the COR buff the BLM PT (GEO drops to the tank PT) with warlocks and wizards then switch back (GEO stays). They then come back to the tank PT and do Tacticians and Samurai roll. Damage doesn't matter in breaking Neaks DT effect after Note. There is simply just a chance after every WS. Pop the mob, have the GEO entrust indi-langour on the tank and then switch back parties. If the fight happens to drag on switch sometime when you feel Discordant Note is due to reapply.
Have your RUN use Rayke and Gambit accordingly (sure you can use a PLD, but there is really nothing that compares to Rayke and Gambit for MBing) and your COR using the right QD. Unless it is dark, and which case the dark bonus to damage from CORs empy feet only comes on if you successfully dispel something.
As for the SC, death works on Neak for the typical 99999+, you may also use ice. We find it easier on the SCH to do fragmentation and use thunder.
When Discordant Note goes on, the RUN may have TP (or use items) for a Freezebite to try and break it, but the COR should move back and forth to throw out a Salute. I find it helpful if the mages run in to WS and run back. It speeds the fight up a lot. Remember AoE wings exist from the goblin.
Oh, and why the RDM? Well Frazzle 3 seems to help a lot and lets another member participate.
You can also melee Neak, but this take a lot more effort and much better geared players to do.
So, stuff > MB > repeat > kill. --Spicyryan (talk) 07:27, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

Solo
Easily soloable as a properly geared BLU with trusts:

Low-Man
Not as impressive as Spicy's BLU solo, but Neak is trio-able with PUP SMN GEO. Add COR for quicker clears. Put PUP in a party by themselves and form alliance. Meteor won't hit alliance. Carefully use Ramuh to Volt Strike Neak down. Automaton can survive Chainspell without issue. I need to check whether or not PUP COR can duo with Overdrive and Target Marker. I believe that it's possible but not 100%. --Safiyyah (talk) 02:09, 10 February 2019 (EST)
