Just had this use self-destruct after I had just dispelled it's Berserk but it had just put up blaze spikes, this happened on 3 separate pops so I don't think Berserk is the cause of self-destruct, blaze spikes is. - Calatilla

I have fought this monster several times on a mule in multiple long drawnout fights. Berserk is the cause of self destruct and not blaze spikes. --Spicyryan (talk) 00:46, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
The JP wiki says that self destruct is caused by doing too much dmg in a single chunk. Maybe the berserk just makes it easier to cross over whatever that line is but any sufficient dmg will trigger it? --Tarowyn (talk) 05:21, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
Defeated as 99Blu/49Rdm spamming Blank Gaze and Dispel, with a tank, whm, rdm and 2 DD trusts. - Benitez 20 December 2016.
Defeated on 2nd try as 99RDM with Apururu, Gessho, Arciela II, Koru-Moru, and Ajido-Marujido. Thought was to have as many Dispels spammed as possible and to keep the damage output low. Worked like a charm. -- Floki
Used a BLU with blank gaze and every trust that had a dispel as a backup (Arciela (II in this case), Qultada, Koru-Moru, Ovjang, and Ajido-Marujido). This worked first try after attempting lesser measures and to plow through it on a few attempts before it. Ulgar (talk) 11:19, 25 November 2018 (EST)

In my attempts, I managed to win slowing down damage (lower amounts at slower pace): that way he didn't use Self-Destruct right after Berserk, giving me the time to dispel the latter, completing the quest Elavon (talk) 15:56, 8 January 2023 (EST)
Solo'd on RDM99/NIN49. I don't have Apururu, as I prefer Flaviria for a Unity NPC, and don't have Ovjang, Qultada nor Gessho, so I'm pretty much lacking one or two Dispel NPCs. I tried doing this with Valaineral, Koru-Moru, Ajido-Marujido, Arciela II and Ulmia. Since I can't tank with my gear, I needed a tank Trust. Koru-Moru and Ajido-Marujido ran their MP dry very quickly about 2/3rds into the fight. But Since I was doing so low of damage with my Weatherspoon+1 Armor Set and 2x Emissary weapons (only auto attacks and Savage Blade), I maybe could've swapped out one of the Taru for one Damage dealer. --Coldreactive (talk) 11:59, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
