Spirits will not cast a spell if the target already has the effect.
- Air Spirit : Aero I-V, Choke, Gravity, Silence, Tornado
- Dark Spirit : Absorb-Stat Spells, Aspir, Bio I-III, Dispel, Drain, Sleepga, Stun
- Earth Spirit : Stone I-V, Quake, Rasp, Slow
- Fire Spirit : Burn, Fire I-V, Flare
- Ice Spirit : Blizzard I-V, Freeze, Frost, Paralyze
- Light Spirit: Banish I-IV, Cure I-V, Curaga I-IV, Dia I-II, Flash, Haste, Holy I-II, Protect I-V, Regen I, Shell I-V
- Light Spirit also casts Enhancing/Healing spells on party members outside of combat.
- Banish IV (lv. 90) is notable as it is a spell not available to players.
- Cure and Curaga spells are used while out of combat when the Summoner's HP is below 50%.
- Whether it uses Cure or Curaga is random.
- The Spirit's Cure and Curaga spells both appear to use the Curaga / Blue Magic Cure Formula, with a healing magic skill that doesn't match WHM skill cap . The healing magic skill seems closer to a high C or low C+, possibly the avatar defense-level function.
- Defense-level function at lvl 50-99 (approximately): 142+floor( (Lv-50)×1217÷256 )
- Defense-level function at lvl 1-49 (approximately): 5+floor( (Lv-1)×717÷256 )
