Notes

• Reduces damage by a set amount (F), which depends on Enhancing Magic skill (caps at 500, which gives -35 damage):
  • Up to 300 skill: F = Floor(Enhancing Magic Skill/10) - 2
  • Over 300 skill: F = 28 + Floor( (Enhancing Magic Skill - 300.5) / 28.5)

Example: If take 50 damage from an attack without Phalanx, you can put up a -20 damage/hit Phalanx and reduce it to 30 damage/hit.

• Phalanx enhancing gear is added directly to this damage reduction making the flat values quite strong past certain levels of enhancing skill.
  • The target of the Phalanx spell must be wearing the Phalanx enhancing gear to benefit from its effects.
  • Overshooting or undershooting a enhancing skill threshold does not give any benefit due to the result being floored, meaning adding +enhancing skill gear that does not reach a threshold is a waste. ex. 410 enhancing skill would still only provide -31 as per the 386 skill tier.
