Guide to leveling mules from 1 to 99 for A.M.A.N trove

General Information

This is a specialized guide for quickly leveling existing mules for A.M.A.N trove from 1 to 99. This guide makes the assumption that you either have an alternate account for power leveling your mule, or that you have a really good friend to help you. Using this guide you can get a mule from 1 to 99 without doing any nation/rhapsody missions, and without a subjob in about 10 hours (much less if an exp boost campaign is active).

Preparing your power leveler

The power level account should have:

  • a BLU geared for magic AoE cleaving.
  • a COR (just for Bolter & Corsair rolls).
  • RDM and THF subjob

I would also recommend using login points to buy sets of Seasoning Stones, Fossilized Fangs, and Fossilized Bones - to make Olde Rarab Tails for the final limit break, just to speed things up. These items stack. Make one tail per mule you plan to level up to 99.

Start the process by switching job to COR/RDM.

Preparing your mule (estimated 30 minutes)

If this is a mule you have had for a while, the very likely it will have a stack of Copper Vouchers and hopefully a Mog Pell (Green), and a Mog Pell (Red).

  • All of my mules are based in Windhurst, so I will use that as the point of reference for the remainder of the guide.

Unity Accolades, Silt, Conquest points

Use the closest Spark NPC to convert your collected copper vouchers into various points.

Rings & Warps

Obtain as many experience boosting and warp items as possible.

If the mule has at least 6 copper vouchers, exchange them for conquest points. Using conquest points, talk to the Conquest NPC and purchase a Warp Ring, and a Empress Band.

  • If you have a least 1260 login points, purchase a Caliber Ring for 1000 login points. (You will need 260 login points to complete the limit breaks, so do not buy this ring if you are low on points.)

  • If it is a new mule with no access to any of the experience point rings, purchase a few Resolution Rings if available.

Limit Break Items

You will need the following items to progress through the limit breaks. Use your login points and/or Mog Pell (Green) to obtain them.

  • You will need a Seasoning Stone - this can be obtained with 10 login points.

Job

Change the mule's job to WHM. This is important for clearing the level 75 limit break without having any magic skill or access to trusts.

Spells

Obtain the following spells:

These are the only spells needed to win the Maat WHM Shattering Stars Limit break quest.

WHM Testimony

Farm a Whm. Testimony from Goblin Alchemist in Cape Teriggan. This can be done any time between now and level 70.

Gil & other items

Trade your mule 30k in gil, a stack of Remedys, three stacks of Silent Oils, and a three stacks of Prism Powder.

Moghancement: Bounty

If your mule has a Vana'clock from one of the prior login campaigns, layout this item as furniture in your mog house to activate Moghancement: Bounty for a 10% experience bonus.

Records of Eminence - Unlocking access to Unity Warps

In order to access the critical Unity Warps, you must first complete 10 Records of Eminence quests. If your mule is based in Windhurst, I recommend the following fast and easy RoEs, but of course you can pick any 10. (Just a note that the Vana'Versary RoEs do not count as part of the ten required to unlock unity warps.)

  • Tutorial > Basics > First Step Forward
  • Tutorial > Basics > Vanquish One Enemy
  • Tutorial > Basics > Undertake a FoV Training Regime
  • Tutorial > Basics > Heal Without Using Magic
  • Tutorial > Basics > Assist Channel
  • Tutorial > Synthesis > Speak to Weavers' Guild Master (Speak to Ponono in Windurst Woods (G‑12)) - Completing this unlocks the next RoE.
  • Tutorial > Synthesis > Weaving: Headgear - Synthesize a Headgear the requisite number of times. (You can purchase Cloth. Kit 5 from Meriri in Windurst Woods - (F-12) for 300 gil.) This synth uses a Wind Crystal.
  • Tutorial > Synthesis > Speak to Boneworkers' Guild Master (Speak to Peshi Yohnts in Windurst Woods (H‑12)) - Completing this unlocks the next RoE.
  • Tutorial > Synthesis > Boneworking: Shell Powder - Synthesize Shell Powder the requisite number of times. (You can purchase Bone. Kit 5 from Retto-Marutto in Windurst Woods - (H-13) for 300 gil.) This synth uses a Wind Crystal.
  • Fishing > General > Speak to Fisherman's Guild Master - Speak to Thubu Parohren in Port Windurst (C-8).

Additionally, set all of the limit break RoEs.

  • Level Cap Increase > Level Cap Increase: 55
  • Level Cap Increase > Level Cap Increase: 60
  • Level Cap Increase > Level Cap Increase: 65
  • Level Cap Increase > Level Cap Increase: 70
  • Level Cap Increase > Level Cap Increase: 75
  • Level Cap Increase > Level Cap Increase: 80
  • Level Cap Increase > Level Cap Increase: 85
  • Level Cap Increase > Level Cap Increase: 90
  • Level Cap Increase > Level Cap Increase: 95

And set the RoEs for mobs in Escha Zi'tah. (Note - you wont be able to set these until you zone into Escha Zi'tah)

  • Combat (Escha 1) > Conflict: Escha - Zi'Tah IV
  • Combat (Escha 1) > Conflict: Escha - Zi'Tah V
  • Combat (Escha 1) > Conflict: Escha - Zi'Tah VI

Level 1 to 50 (1 hour)

Once the power level account and mule have been prepared, it is time to start leveling.

  • You must still level using the traditional method to Lvl 3 in order to trigger the RoV CS granting you access to Escha ZiTah.
  • Start taking the Unity Warp 119 -> Qufim Island with both the mule and power level account.
  • Use Prism Powder and Silent Oil on mule.
  • Use Bolter's roll, and have the mule follow the power level to Qufim Island Home Point #1: (G-8), Near the Undulating Confluence.
  • Make sure the mule grabs this HP.

Take mule and power level into Escha Zitah through the Undulating Confluence.

  • Use Bolter's roll again.
  • Get the Mollifier key item on power level account
  • Use Prism Powder and Silent Oil on mule.
  • Escort mule to Conflux #2, near the Dragon/Puk camp.
  • Before you leave, give your mules a full strength Corsair's roll

Once the mule has Conflux #2, warp the power level account only and change job to BLU/COR.

  • For trusts, use Star Sibyl, Ferreous Coffin (to raise mule if he dies), Kupofried, and any other desired trusts.
  • Roll Corsair's Roll on your BLU/COR
  • Start using your experience rings on your mule. As soon as one runs out, use another.

Have your mule follow Star Sibyl. Then just start collecting 3-10 mobs at a time and nuking them down. Since your mule is always near by you do not have to worry about collecting a huge number of mobs. Just collect a few, nuke a few. Just use whatever BLU cleave style you are comfortable with. Once a high enough level, have mule sneak/invisible himself to prevent agro while cleaving.

  • Once your mule reaches level 50, warp out of Escha Zitah and head to the closest Unity Warp NPC.
  • Make sure the mule's Experience points are capped before warping - this will enable you to do two limit breaks back to back.
  • Change job on power level account to COR/THF
  1. Take the Unity Warp 125 > Garlaige Citadel on both mule and power leveler. The mule can stay put.
    The power level account goes to farm Bomb Coal by killing Explosures. Explosures in Garlaige Citadel are located on Map 2 past Banishing Gate 1.
    Once the mule has a Bomb Coal, warp out and head back to the Unity Warp NPC.
  2. Take the Unity Warp 125 > Batallia Downs on both mule and power leveler.
    Zone into Upper Jeuno and get the HP at the entrance, then zone back out.
    Use Bolter's roll and run to The Eldieme Necropolis at I-10. Once inside, the mule can stay put. The power level account goes to farm Ancient Papyrus by killing Lichs.
    Lichs in Eldieme Necropolis all located around the outer square of the first map. Once the mule has an Ancient Papyrus, warp out and head back to the Unity Warp NPC.
  3. Take the Unity Warp 125 > Rolanberry Fields on both mule and power leveler. The mule can stay put.
    The power level account goes to farm Exoray Mold by killing Exorays. Exorays are near by in a few rooms - just use widescan to find them.
    Once the mule has an Exoray Mold, warp out and head to Maat in Ru'Lude Gardens.
  • Take the HP to Upper Jueno you got in step #2 above.
    (If you forgot, take the Unity Warp 125 > Battila Downs. This puts you near Upper Jeuno. Zone into Upper Jeuno, and grab the HP.)
  • Head to Ru'Lude Gardens (grab all the HPs along the way) and head to Maat to start Limit break 50:
  • In Defiant Challenge.
  • After talking to Maat and trading the items you collected you will complete Level cap 55, and the RoE for completing this quest gives you 300 experience points, which levels you up to Level 51 if you were capped. This enables you to immediately start the next level cap quest:
  • Atop the Highest Mountains.
  • Once completed warp out and head back to Maat in Ru'Lude Gardens. Talk to Maat again to complete the level cap 60.

Level 51 to 60

  • Both accounts take the Qufim Island HP #1 and head to Escha - Zi'Tah to level up 10 more levels.
  • Get the Mollifier key item on power level account,
  • Mule warps to Conflux #2
  • For trusts, use Star Sibyl, Ferreous Coffin (to raise mule if he dies), Kupofried, and any other desired trusts.
  • Roll Corsair's Roll on your BLU/COR
  • Start using your experience rings. As soon as one runs out, use another.

Have your mule follow Star Sibyl. Then just start collecting 3-10 mobs at a time and nuking them down. Since your mule is always near by you do not have to worry about collecting a huge number of mobs. Just collect a few, nuke a few. Just use whatever BLU cleave style you are comfortable with. Have mule sneak/invisible himself to prevent agro while cleaving.

  • Once your mule reaches level 60, warp out of Escha - Zi'Tah and head Maat at Ru'Lude Gardens.
  • Make sure the mule's Experience points are capped before warping - this will enable you to do two limit breaks back to back.
  • Talk to Maat to start the limit break 65 - by all accounts the most annoying limit break quest, Whence Blows the Wind.
  • Change job on power level account to COR/RDM. Bring a stack of Remedy.
  • Once the mule has all 3 crests, warp and return to Maat in Ru'Lude Gardens. Complete the level 65 Level cap quest.
  • After talking to Maat you complete Level cap 65, the RoE for completing this quest gives you 300 experience points, which levels you up to Level 61 if you were capped. This enables you to immediately start the next level cap quest, Riding on the Clouds.
    • Completing Riding on the Clouds requires talking to NPCs in each of the starting cities, and also either Selbina or Mhaura.
    • If the Super Kupower "Ease of Exploration is active, use the Explorer Moogle to move the mule around to the various cities quickly. Otherwise use the level 99 Unity warps to escort the mule to the various cities to complete this quest.
  • Once Riding on the Clouds is completed, head back to Escha - Zi'tah for 10 more levels.

Level 61 to 70

  • Both accounts take the Qufim Island HP #1 and head to Escha - Zi'Tah to level up 10 more levels.
  • Get the Mollifier key item on power level account,
  • Mule warps to Conflux #2
  • For trusts, use Star Sibyl, Ferreous Coffin (to raise mule if he dies), Kupofried, and any other desired trusts.
  • Roll Corsair's Roll on your BLU/COR
  • Start using your experience rings. As soon as one runs out, use another.

Have your mule follow Star Sibyl. Then just start collecting 3-10 mobs at a time and nuking them down. Since your mule is always near by you do not have to worry about collecting a huge number of mobs. Just collect a few, nuke a few. Just use whatever BLU cleave style you are comfortable with. Have mule sneak/invisible himself to prevent agro while cleaving.

  • Once your mule reaches level 60, warp out of Escha - Zi'Tah.
  • Make sure the mule's Experience points are capped before warping.
  • If you have not already done so - Farm a Whm. Testimony from Goblin Alchemist in Cape Teriggan.
  • Head Maat at Ru'Lude Gardens
  • Talk to Maat to start the limit break 75 - the WHM Maat fight Shattering Stars.
  • Warp to the BC.
  • Before starting the fight, zone out of the BC area, grab the HP, then zone back in.
  • In order to beat Maat on WHM, you need to survive for 5 minutes.
  • To prepare for the fight, use Protect IV, Shell IV, Blink, Aquaveil, Stoneskin, Regen III. Engage Maat then run away and simple kite Maat around the circle. If you get paralyzed or silenced used a remedy. Maat has a predictable cycle of melee/chasing you for a while, then he stops to cast a magic spell. Use the time he is casting magic to stop yourself and use either Regen III, Remedy, or Cure III to keep yourself alive. If you get into a pinch you and use Benediction to restore you HP.
  • After Maat gives up after 5 minutes, warp out using the provided warp scroll and head back Ru'Lude Gardens and talk to Maat again to complete the level cap quest.

Level 71 to 75

  • Both accounts take the Qufim Island HP #1 and head to Escha - Zi'Tah to level up 5 more levels (and with 7 merit points).
  • Get the Mollifier key item on power level account,
  • Mule warps to Conflux #2
  • For trusts, use Star Sibyl, Ferreous Coffin (to raise mule if he dies), Kupofried, and any other desired trusts.
  • Roll Corsair's Roll on your BLU/COR
  • Start using your experience rings. As soon as one runs out, use another.

Have your mule follow Star Sibyl. Then just start collecting 3-10 mobs at a time and nuking them down. Since your mule is always near by you do not have to worry about collecting a huge number of mobs. Just collect a few, nuke a few. Just use whatever BLU cleave style you are comfortable with. Have mule sneak/invisible himself to prevent agro while cleaving.

  • Once your mule reaches level 75 **AND has 7 merit points** , warp out of Escha - Zi'Tah and head the Nomad Moogle at Ru'Lude Gardens. (Please note that even though you will not be able to access the merit point menu yet, you *will* be able to accumulate merit points, just wait until you see the message that indicates you have at least 7 merit points).
  • Make sure the mule's Experience points are capped before warping - this will enable you to do two limit breaks back to back.
  • Talk to the Nomad Moogle to start the limit break 80 - New Worlds Await - this requires 3 merit points and 5 Kindred's Seals.
  • After completing this limit break, talk to the Nomad Moogle again to start the next limit break - Expanding Horizons, and complete this quest which requires 4 merit points and 5 Kindred's Crests.

Level 76 to 85

  • Get the Mollifier key item on power level account,
  • Mule warps to Conflux #2
  • For trusts, use Star Sibyl, Ferreous Coffin (to raise mule if he dies), Kupofried, and any other desired trusts.
  • Roll Corsair's Roll on your BLU/COR
  • Start using your experience rings. As soon as one runs out, use another.

Have your mule follow Star Sibyl. Then just start collecting 3-10 mobs at a time and nuking them down. Since your mule is always near by you do not have to worry about collecting a huge number of mobs. Just collect a few, nuke a few. Just use whatever BLU cleave style you are comfortable with. Have mule sneak/invisible himself to prevent agro while cleaving.

  • Once your mule reaches level 85 **AND has 15 merit points** , warp out of Escha - Zi'Tah and head the Nomad Moogle at Ru'Lude Gardens.
  • Make sure the mule's Experience points are capped before warping - this will enable you to do two limit breaks back to back.
  • Talk to the Nomad Moogle to start the limit break 80 - Beyond the Stars - this requires 5 merit points and 10 Kindred's Crests.
  • After completing this limit break, talk to the Nomad Moogle again to start the next limit break - Dormant Powers Dislodged, and complete this quest, which requires 10 merits, 1 Kindred's Crest and 1 random low level item. Use the unity warps for navigating to the appropriate area to farm the low level item requested.

Level 86 to 95

  • Once your mule reaches level 99 and some Experience point buffer , warp out of Escha - Zi'Tah and head the Lower Jeuno entrace and start your A.M.A.N Troving.
  • (Note, when you zone into Lower Jeuno you will get a 8 minute cutscene).

P.S. If you plan on using these mules during the "easy" Ambuscade months as well, consider doing the following additional tasks:

  • Get a Tenshodo Invite (available on AH usually) and complete the Tenshodo Membership quest. Once inside, click on the red treasure box and select the bottom option to get a Nexus Cape (this assumes that you have content IDs for the 3 mini-addons for this account). The Nexus Cape is very useful in dragging mules to the far flung survival guides or HPs required for Ambuscade KIs.
  • Start the quest The Road to Aht Urhgan, by talking to Faursel at (J-8) of the Tenshodo. You must select the blank option at the bottom twice. Select Advanced, and the option to pay him 500,000 for access to Whitegate, needed for some Ambuscade KI spots. After one game day, talk to him again and he will warp you to Wajaom Woodlands.
  • Speak with Goldagrik in Lower Jeuno at H-9 (Inside Muckvix's Junkshop) to begin MMM. He will give you the starter Maze Tabula, Voucher, and Runes. Then use the Maze right away to enter MMM to start your CC timer. This will eventually enable you to use this mule to perform MMM 1 hour resets, once you collect enough marbles (100) to purchase Maze Voucher 09. It takes 3 CC points to use the maze for 1 hour resets with Voucher 09.
