Very Difficult

While it is possible to do a melee strategy, the risk of failure is higher, especially on Very Difficult.

PLD goes in after casting Phalanx, Reprisal, Crusade, Enlight, and Cocoon. Flashes the EV and uses Sentinel.

  • PLD spams Flash, Blank Gaze, and Jettatura on EV. Be sure to maintain self buffs.
  • RDM does Dia III on EV, Flurry II on RNGs and COR, Refresh II on PLD (and Haste if BRD does not have 99 Daurdabla). Expect to be curing the PLD more below 30% EV HP.
  • BRD try to land Carnage Elegy and Foe Requiem VII on EV. Expect to be curing the PLD more below 30% EV HP.
  • Both the RDM and BRD should be curing the PLD, but really the PLD should be taking very little damage and able to cure himself.
  • RNGs use Decoy Shot and stay at least 15 yalms away at all times.
  • COR needs to be very careful with hate, especially at the beginning. Recommend COR not damage EV until a couple WSs from the RNG.
  • PLD should only do the WS Atonement. If max damage is not achieved, notify rest of party so they can back off on damage (usually COR is the culprit of pulling hate).
  • PLD should use Rampart at 30% EV HP due to EV skillchaining Light.
  • RNGs should use Overkill once EV's Invincible has completed and Decoy Shot is re-used. -- 2 January 2015‎ Protey

Difficult

It may not need stating, but between when people first attempted AAEV II and now there has been significant power creep on the part of the player. As such, this was a very easy solo on Summoner. I used the following trusts: AAEV(It's funny because she tanks herself pretty well), Amchuchu(Died at the start, do not recommend), Ygnas(A great healer), Monberaux(Also a great healer), and Arciela II(Gives refresh when paired with Ygnas). Apart from Amchuchu dying right off the bat, and a few dips into the red, none of my trusts struggled with holding on for the duration of the fight. I started with Ramuh, but switched to Siren who ate her lunch. She was doing so much damage she actually stole hate from AAEV several times. I would have gone up a difficulty level after doing this fight but I actually 1/1ed the item I wanted so it will remain an exercise for the reader, though I think I could probably pull it off with some difficulty. --Tarage (talk) 10:47, 18 February 2025 (UTC)

Normal

Solod as COR/NIN. Trusts used were AAEV, Ulmia, Koru-Moru, Monberaux, and Yoran-Oran. Koru died about half way through from the AoE spams, but other than that, fight was easily done. Maine premise is to just not pull hate and keep the trust tank alive. --Bigakuga (Asura) 7 July 2022

Relatively easy as PUP/WAR w/ just over 500 JP (20/20 Automaton HP/MP, 20/20 Martial Arts). Trusts used were AAEV, Qultada, Koru-Moru, Yoran-Oran (UC) and Karaha-Baruha. Automaton was spec'd VE Head SS Frame, but did die after pulling hate. Swapped it to SS head and Divinator II to push out of range for the rest of the fight. A few times I was pushed to Orange/Red HP, so two Healer Trusts was definitely the play. Did not SP at all, could probably swap Qultada out but he definitely assisted in damage output. -- Gulbrand, Bahamut, 21APR25

Update to this: Attempted twice more with same setup, and was unable to complete. May have just gotten lucky the first go around. --Gulbrand, Bahamut, 24APR25

Very Easy

Did this for the Trust.

Avg gear 99RDM/NIN. Went with 2 tanks because I was worried about her eating one of them, which ended up not being a big threat. In hindsight, I would have replaced Valaineral with a DD (probably Shantotto II) Trusts were August, Valaineral, Apururu, Iroha II, and Qultada. Buffed myself, debuffed her, spammed Savage Blade, kept shadows up, kinda spaced out and was done in 7m 54s.

One piece of advice - keep shadows up. -- 27 June 2018 Lolmeleerdm (talk)

I did this as BLU/WAR melee. My Trust team was: Amchuchu, Apururu, Koru-Moru, Selh'teus and Shantotto II. The trick to a successful melee strategy is to never get hit by Arrogance Incarnate. It can deal upwards of 2000 damage, enough to instantly kill level 99 characters that don't have high HP and/or damage reduction, such as from Scherzo and Earthen Armor. Only straight "Damage taken" and "Breath damage taken" work against this WS. However, its AoE range is limited and it will not hit you if you stay behind her at maximum melee distance, so long as you are very careful with your damage output. It's better to be safe than sorry, so don't start out with aggressive buffs and sit on your TP or stand back for a while. Dominion Slash is not as dangerous, but it has a larger range and a Silence effect. Apururu kept enough distance to avoid getting hit and did not have trouble healing its damage on Very Easy. Utsusemi can absorb it, so /NIN is probably the best choice for higher difficulties. Always bring Echo Drops in any case. --Eithin (talk) 16:32, 13 May 2021 (EDT)

Returning player, just have the 117 Espial gear and whatever other pre-item level gear I had lying around from when I'd last played, and this fight is just so random. Sometimes she takes out all of your trusts right at the start of the fight, leaving you to die all alone. Sometimes she takes out all but your Valaineral and then you as RDM/NIN and Valaineral almost successfully duo her but end up losing because you ran out of echo drops. Sometimes she does neither but then at some point just starts spamming Dominion Slash and Arrogance Incarnate so you're taking all this damage you can't recover from because by the time you've used an echo drop she's re-silenced you.

Clearly doable, but without better gear or trusts it requires you to be lucky. --Golddess (talk) 20:15, 10 November 2022 (EST)

Use Gessho as your tank, Valaineral dies. Ocero (talk) 06:15, 2 April 2025 (UTC)

99WAR/NIN with 119 gear. Trusts: Valaineral, Gessho, Cherukiki, Karaha-Baruha, Arciela II. Bring echo drops and a reraiser. When you engage, pull Ark Angel EV to the outer edge of the circle before auto-attacking. This will help your tanks position her such that you can make use of the reraiser if/when needed. How your trusts position themselves, especially your support/healers will mostly be up to luck. If they position well, the fight should be relatively easy. If for some reason they die early, you can die, let AA EV move back to the center and reraise.

You can immediately resummon your trusts and rengage after putting up shadows, but you'll want to stand outside of 10 yalms after your tanks pull hate to avoid getting hit by most of her AOEs. If she's already used her two-hours, and is around 50%, you can watch your trusts kill her before you unweaken.

In general, be careful to not pull hate from your tanks, Arrogance Incarnate can kill you or take you low enough that another attack will. This is a bit of a cheesy way to win the fight, but it works. --Deuce (talk) 2:16, 9 June 2025 (EST)
