Introduced with the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion and later expanded to provide a new challenge, Salvage is an event divided into two difficulty levels designed for level 75 and level 99 endgame. In most events, you begin with all your abilities, statistics, and equipment that you had obtained outside the area; however, in order to proceed through the Salvage areas and defeat the various notorious monsters and bosses within, you must start from scratch and work your way up. No abilities, magic, weapons, subjobs, statistics, or equipment are available to you at the start -- these must each be unlocked as you progress through the area.
The main objective of Salvage missions is the exploration of the archaeological remains of four areas (Zhayolm Remnants, Arrapago Remnants, Bhaflau Remnants, Silver Sea Remnants) and the eradication the demonic beasts that rule each tower. To complete these missions, alliances must work as one, or the treasure that slumbers in the remnants' bowels will remain lost for eternity.
Salvage Areas
Area | Location |
Arrapago Remnants | Northwest Portal, Alzadaal Undersea Ruins (G-8) |
Bhaflau Remnants | Southeast Portal, Alzadaal Undersea Ruins (H-9) |
Silver Sea Remnants | Northeast Portal, Alzadaal Undersea Ruins (H-8) |
Zhayolm Remnants | Southwest Portal, Alzadaal Undersea Ruins (G-9) |
Requirements
The requirements to participate in Salvage are:
- Treasures of Aht Urhgan Mission 17 Complete
- Party/Alliance Size of 3-18 Members
- Minimum level requirements
- Original areas: Level 65
- New areas: Level 96
- Possess a Remnants Permit
General Information
The maximum time permitted in a remnants area is 100 Minutes (1 Hour, 40 Minutes).
Salvage areas are instanced in the same way that Assault areas are used: multiple groups can occupy the same Remnants area at one time; however, they will be in completely separate instances of the area. Each area is comprised of five or seven floors, including a final floor with a boss from the Chariot family. The vast majority of enemies, floor clear conditions, notorious monster spawn conditions, and much more, are specific to each Remnants area. See the individual Remnants area pages for more detail.
Of note, any piece of gear that has an Assault-specific statistic on it gains those bonuses in Salvage as well. Salvage is also included as a Sanction area, so chosen Sanction bonuses such as Refresh (Status) will apply.
Within Salvage areas, armoury crates often appear at set locations or as drops from a defeated monster. Armoury crates may contain one or more of the temporary items listed below. Certain armoury crates are more likely to contain certain items.
Salvage (Level 99)
Upon entering a zone and moving forward, prior to encountering any enemies, a Runic Lamp will be found which allows for removal of pathos from party members. The lamp will allow for the removal of 10 pathos in total from the following list:
- Encumberment (Main/Sub Weapons) x2
- One or two of each of the following (one of one, two of the other):
- Impairment (Job Abilities/Weapon Skills) x1-2
- Omerta (Magic) x1-2
- Obliviscence (Sub Job) x1
- Encumberment / Debilitation (HP, MP, Body, or Ranged equipment) x2
- Encumberment / Debilitation (Any other attribute or equipment) x2
Pathos can be removed by having the target party member use the menu options associated with the lamp. Once a party member removes a pathos from the list, that pathos cannot be removed by another party member unless additional uses were granted by the lamp (the number of remaining uses will be in parentheses next to the restriction removed). Additional runic lamps will be found at the start of each floor in the area; however, runic lamps on floors above the first will require defeating certain enemies prior to activation.
In addition to pathos being removed by Runic Lamps, there is also a chance that pathos can be removed by defeating certain enemies in the area. The removable pathos will depend on the type of enemy defeated.
Salvage (Level 75)
Upon entering a zone and moving forward, prior to encountering any enemies, an Armoury Crate will be found containing a variety of imbued cells. These chests always contain the following 10 cells:
- Incus Cell x2
- One or two of each of the following (one of one, two of the other):
- Praecipitatio Cell x1-2
- Opacus Cell x1-2
- Duplicatus Cell
- Two of: Humilus Cell, Spissatus Cell, Cumulus Cell, Undulatus Cell
- Can be two of the same kind
- Two of: Any statistic or equipment cell except Cumulus Cell, Undulatus Cell and Incus Cell
- Can be two of the same kind
Additional cells either have a chance to drop or are guaranteed drops obtained from defeating various monsters in the area, and the cells that may be received typically depend on the type of monster defeated.

Equipment & Drops
Salvage also includes a different way of gaining equipment. Instead of a piece of gear dropping that's instantly useful to a job at 75, pieces of gear at levels 15, 25, and 35 drop. Each final piece of gear is NPC crafted from its corresponding 15, 25, and 35 pieces.
- Level 15 components are the easiest to obtain and generally drop guaranteed off notorious monsters or randomly off normal monsters.
- Level 25 components are obtained from a specific chariot boss monster.
- Level 35 components are obtained randomly and rarely from specific notorious monsters.
To be crafted, each piece requires six of a crafting material as well as 10 Imperial Gold Pieces. The storage of components and crafting of gear are done by the NPC Ghanraam in Aht Urhgan Whitegate. After trading the requisite armor components, crafting materials, and gold pieces, the completed armor may be retrieved after 0:00 JST.
