From FFXI Wiki
(Redirected from Ecosystem)

Virtually all monsters in Vana'diel are classified as part of one monster "type" from the tables below.
Akin to elemental ascendancy and opposition, ecosystems of predation and opposition exist within the creature classification. See the image and tables below for more information.

The effects of creature predation and opposition can cause Intimidation during battle.
For example, Lizards can intimidate Vermin and be intimidated by Beasts, while Demons and Dragons can both intimidate and be intimidated by one another. Creature predation and opposition is most often and most easily taken advantage by pet selection of the Beastmaster job, but can also be caused by "Killer" Job Traits (e.g. Beast Killer), certain Job Abilities (e.g. Arcane Circle), and certain equipment (e.g. Crimson Armor Set).
