Ephemeral Box
Overview
Ephemeral Box is a storage solution specifically for Crystal Warriors.
The box stores common crafting materials, which can be traded simultaneously, just like Ephemeral Moogles. The items can be retrieved again at any box location.
To unlock the Ephemeral Box, players must first complete a quest.
WARNING
The Ephemeral Box does not prevent you from attempting to withdraw more items than you have inventory space for.
Should a player attempt to withdraw more items than they have space for, the items that don't fit will fall to the floor and be lost forever.
GMs/Developers have stated that they will not restore these items, so please pay attention to your inventory space when using the box.
Quest Walkthrough
- Speak to Rusty Hammer (E-3) in Northern San d'Oria at Level 40+
- Bring Rusty Hammer one each of
Phoenix Feather, 
Mahogany Log, 
Rosewood Log, 
Ebony Log - After trading the four items, Rusty Hammer needs material from Carpenters' Landing: a piece from a crooked trunk, next to a collapsed bridge
- Travel to Carpenters' Landing using the western Jugner Forest (E-6) entrance, and find the Crooked Trunk at (G-9)
- Prepare a small group for a Level 40 capped fight against a Treant
- After the fight inspect the Crooked Trunk at (G-9)
- Return to Rusty Hammer (E-3) in North San d'Oria
Ephemeral Box Locations
Ephemeral Boxes can be found in all crafting guilds next to Ephemeral Moogles, and additionally:
- Lower Jeuno (H-7) (Inside Chamber of Commerce and Industry)
- Selbina (H-9) (Weaver's Guild)
- Mhaura (G-9) (Blacksmiths' Guild)
- Kazham (E-7) (Auction House)
- Norg (G-7)
- Rabao (F-7)
- Aht Urghan Whitegate (E-7) (Auction House)
- Leafallia

Box Expansion
- The Ephemeral Box can be expanded to store fish, rods and bait through Fishing Venture Points.
- The Ephemeral Box can be expanded to store food and NIN tools through Tonberry Trouble.
- The Ephemeral Box can be expanded to store Allied Incursion materials (for 5,000 Garrison Points) from Garret in Ru'Lude Gardens (H-9).
Other Features
- The Ephemeral Box can automatically transfer Beastmen's Seals/Kindred's Seals to Shami in Port Jeuno.
- The Ephemeral Box can automatically transfer magic scrolls to Gramateus in Upper Jeuno, provided players have completed the first quest (Decrypting Antiquity II) from Lectilas.
- The Ephemeral Box can automatically transfer Sea Organs to Vision in Port Jeuno.
