Category:Escha
Introduced with Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, Escha is comprised of two Eschan zones and a Far Eastern zone filled with a wide range of monsters, from the relatively the weak to high-level and even notorious monsters.
The first zone was implemented alongside the first act of Rhapsodies of Vana'diel in the May 14th, 2015 update[1], Escha - Zi'Tah; with the second zone, Escha - Ru'Aun, being added alongside the second act of Rhapsodies of Vana'diel in the August 5th, 2015 update[2]; and the final zone, Reisenjima, being added alongside the final act of Rhapsodies of Vana'diel in the November 2015 update.
Defeating regular and notorious monsters yield the ability to obtain various unique buffs specific to Eschan zones and Reisenjima; furthermore, defeating notorious monsters will yield powerful equipment which, much like Delve, may be further enhanced.

Battle Content
Within each Eschan zone and Reisenjima, there are numerous Notorious Monsters that players may engage in combat with in numerous event styles ranging from singular, random spawning monsters to giant server-wide cooperative fights against extremely powerful foes.
Domain Invasion
Introduced along with the second chapter of Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, this battle content pits any number of players against a single Wyrm type Notorious Monster and their lesser monster helpers in two waves of battle.
The Wyrm making the ingression will only appear for a limited time; however, Unity leaders will notify their members via unity messages related to where and when monsters will spawn. (up to 10 minutes until smaller monsters spawn / smaller monster spawn notification / notorious monster spawn notification / notorious monster defeat notification / notorious monster tally)
The respawn time for a zone's Domain Invasion is approximately 20-30 minutes after last kill. Once a Wave 2 Dragon has been defeated, another Domain Invasion will commence in a different area so long as enough time has passed since that Dragon was last killed. The Domain Invasion rotation is Escha - Zi'Tah → Escha - Ru'Aun → Reisenjima → Escha - Zi'Tah ⤾, repeating indefinitely.
As of the January 2020 Update[3], the time that must pass until the regular monsters appear will now decrease based on the number of participants, with more players decreasing the 10 minute wait more. The time can be reduced first from over 5 minutes down to 5, then by 1 minute increments down to 1 and one last decrease to 30 seconds. It takes seven (7) players to decrease the wait time from 10-6 to 5 minutes. Further testing for thresholds is needed.
As of the February 2020 Update[4], after the regular monsters in a Domain Invasion have been wiped out, a new Notorious Monster has a chance of spawning any of the three relevant zones: Escha - Zi'Tah, Escha - Ru'Aun, and Reisenjima; should this dragon be defeated, all participating players will be rewarded with 100 Domain Points.
Participation
- To participate, a player must be in possession of an "elvorseal" received from either Affi in Escha - Zi'Tah (F-10), Dremi in Escha - Ru'Aun (H-11), or Shiftrix in Reisenjima (F-12)
- Only level 99 players may receive this Key Item.
- Monster tagging is not active during a Domain Invasion, meaning that players can work together even if they are not in the same party.
- It's unknown of there is a time limit for battles against either the smaller monsters or the notorious monster. There is no longer a 30 minute timer as there was before.
- The maximum HP of monsters will increase based on the number of participants.
- Alter egos may be called forth in battle without regard to enmity.
- Should the assembled players defeat the NM, each person participating will receive capacity points, Domain Points, Silt, and Beads; with the zone where the monster was defeated earning special temporary enhancements. (See chart below)
- A message will be displayed in the log indicating the total number of Domain Points you have earned for the day, as well as your current total of points held.
- Players who have been KO'd will be raised immediately upon the battlefield ending.

- Added in the March 2020 Version Update[5], duration is 60 seconds and is applied when you enter the Domain Invasion area.
- Players will not take any damage while this buff is active, but will be removed when they take any enmity-generating action towards monsters.
- Actions that do not generate enmity will not remove the buff.
- Players will not receive any rewards while Mobilization is active.
Awakening
The player who delivers the final blow to the last enemy of Wave 1 will receive the Awakening buff, granting said player:

Spike Flail
- Added in the June 2022 Version Update[6], the main target of "Spike Flail" no longer receives damage, but instead the effects of Terror and Warp.
Note: It has been reported that if Trusts trigger a Spike Flail, that will cause the wyrm to Terror and Warp the player that summoned the Trust. This happens even if the player themselves are not behind the dragon.
Rewards
When the Wave 2 Dragon is defeated, all characters in the battle area will earn various points and beads, and unlock tiers of vorseals for purchase. Additionally, the area where the monster was defeated will enjoy special blessing effects.
- While escha beads and Domain Points are rewarded only upon successful vanquishing of the Wyrm, Capacity Points and escha silt is also rewarded periodically throughout the fight, based upon the player's personal evaluation.
Domain Points
As of the December 2019 Update[7], Players will receive a baseline of 10 domain points per Domain Invasion, which are then modified by certain buffs that may be attained during the two waves of Domain Invasion.
- As of the March 2020 Update[8], the baseline domain points can be increased by continuously defeating Mireu; this increase is for the entire server, not just those who participate in the fight with Mireu.

3x | +20 | 0 |
4x | +30 | 0 |
5x or more | +40 (50 base points per DI) | +20 (100pt cap) |
- Should Mireu be left alone and absconds without being killed, then the baseline bonus will reset to 0.
- The increase to the base point value and the raise to the daily cap is applied before the points are awarded
- Meaning that for the 5th Mireu defeat, instead of the usual 160pts, the 5th (and later) defeat of Mireu for your server will award 200 points.
Despite what the bonus at the end says, "Party Size" is for all participants regardless if they're in a party or not.
|
₰: These bonus multipliers stack multiplicatively.
|
- Only up to 80 domain points may be earned per Earth day (resetting at JPmidnight); unless Mireu has been defeated 5 or more times on your server, then the daily cap is raised to 100 for the entire server.
The secondary 80(/100) domain points awarded from defeating Mireu are not subject to a player's daily limit.
Zurim in Norg (I-7) runs a reward redemption exchange for Domain Points for many of the items that can normally be obtained in Geas Fete content.

Lottery Notorious Monsters
Various Notorious Monsters can spawn randomly after killing certain enemies. The chance of this occurrence can be increased via the Rare Monster Vorseal; whose effects may be suspended with the purchase of a Mollifier Key Item for 500 silt, added in the November 2015 update. The Mollifier must be purchased each time you enter an Eschan area, as it is only a temporary Key Item and is lost upon zoning out.
Drops for the Unity Notorious Monsters appear to contain the unique unity reward items at very low drop rates, but more commonly they simply provide Eschalixirs. They tend to spawn according to their families, as below.
The Warder Notorious Monsters in Escha - Ru'Aun yield special Nazar Key Items (all 10 are required to obtain the Key Item to pop Warder of Courage) and a line of skill torques which can be synthesized together.

Geas Fete
Geas Fete focuses on battling the notorious monsters that dwell in Eschan zones and Reisenjima.
Calling forth these notorious monsters requires tribulenses (or as of the November 10, 2015 update[9], a radialens), special key items obtainable in exchange for escha silt, as well as a "grisly trinket" key item specific to each notorious monster; which are both consumed upon the monster's appearance.
Defeating these notorious monsters will grant the victors experience and capacity points, escha silt and Escha Beads, powerful equipment specific to each monster, items used to augment said equipment, and finally respective Vorseals.
By defeating two Tier 1 NMs in any given zone, one Tier 2 pop item will be unlocked from the NPC. Defeating an entire tier group will ensure access to the entire subsequent tier group's pops.
Futhermore, there are special tiers of unique Notorious monsters, whose Grisly Trinkets require specific items ranging from Heavenly Beast seal tatters to HELM items obtained in Eschan zones.
How to participate
- Form a party of one to eighteen members.
- Trusts may be used in Geas Fete.
- Geas Fete NM HP does not scale for less than 3 people.
- Every party member must possess a tribulens (key item) and the party leader must have a "grisly trinket" key item corresponding to the appropriate notorious monster.
- The notorious monster are spawned by the party leader inspecting a ??? target located at various points in the Escha zone or Reisenjima.
- Escha - Zi'Tah trinkets may be obtained by trading items with Affi, Escha - Ru'Aun trinkets with Dremi, and Reisenjima trinkets with Shiftrix.
As denoted below, certain items may be purchased from various vendor NPCs, Guild NPCs, Mog Garden, or Curio Moogles for gil, or with sparks of eminence from an A.M.A.N. NPC, or with unity accolades from a Unity Concord NPC, or from coalition vendor NPCs with either Bayld or Mummer's Medals, or with Mweya Plasm from the NPC Forri-Porri.
Escha - Zi'Tah
Note: After defeating a Geas Fete NM while in possession of the rare enemy vorseal, it is possible for a HELM NM to spawn. Use a Mollifier to avoid this.
As denoted above and below, certain items may be purchased from various vendor NPCs, Guild NPCs, Mog Garden, or Curio Moogles for gil, or with sparks of eminence from an A.M.A.N. Monthly Adventurer Campaigns
There are five types of campaigns that may run any given month.
Geas Fete Campaign
- When this Monthly Adventurer Campaign is active, players receive double the usual amount of Silt in Escha areas (including Reisenjima).
- Players receive double the usual amount of escha Silt from defeating monsters in Escha areas (including Reisenjima) during the campaign.
Geas Fete Campaign - PLUS!
- When this Monthly Adventurer Campaign is active, two bonuses are in effect for the duration of the campaign:
- Players receive double the usual amount of escha Silt from defeating monsters in Escha areas (including Reisenjima) during the campaign.
- Personal rewards from Geas Fete are increased by two items, and players will receive either an Eschalixir, Eschalixir +1, or Eschalixir +2.
- Note: This campaign does not allow for an addition equipment drop, as the first slot is still the only possible direct drop slot for Equipment.
- See the Reisenjima Geas Fete Equipment Campaign below for information on that campaign. This campaign is simply for two additional direct drops used for augmentation.
- Note: In Reisenjima, players will receive either Pellucid Stones, Fern Stones, or Taupe Stones.
- Note: This campaign does not allow for an addition equipment drop, as the first slot is still the only possible direct drop slot for Equipment.
Reisenjima Geas Fete Equipment Campaign
- When this Monthly Adventurer Campaign is active, an additional personal reward will drop from Geas Fete notorious monsters in Reisenjima
- Essentially, an additional slot opens up for direct drops from Geas Fete in Reisenjima. This provides players you with an extra chance to obtain their spoils as direct drops.
Dark Matter Arcane Glyphics Campaign
- When this Monthly Adventurer Campaign is active, six free "Technique" augments are available every earth day via Oseem.
- Through the power of Arcane Glyptics, Reisenjima armor drops can be engraved for free up to six times per earth day at no charge. The only requirement is that you are on or past Rhapsodies of Vanadiel Mission 3-1.
- Dark Matter augments are highly random, and sometimes surpass the maximum values of Taupe, Pellucid, and Fern stones. This is the way players obtain Treasure Hunter and Refresh on pieces that normally do not have it.
- The equipment will receive the same benefits as if they were engraved with Dark Matter.
- Visit Oseem in Norg at (I-7) to engrave your equipment. This resets every day at JP Midnight.
- Note: This campaign usually starts at 1AM Pacific time on the months it runs. This essentially gives six extra augments before the JP Midnight reset 6-7 hours later after the campaign starts. Be sure to take advantage of this!
- Through the power of Arcane Glyptics, Reisenjima armor drops can be engraved for free up to six times per earth day at no charge. The only requirement is that you are on or past Rhapsodies of Vanadiel Mission 3-1.
Dark Matter Arcane Glyphics Campaign - PLUS!
- When this Monthly Adventurer Campaign is active, twelve free "Technique" augments are available every earth day via Oseem (instead of six from the NQ campaign).
- The other details of this campaign are the same as the NQ version described above.
- Note: As of the September 10, 2020 version update: On the day of the switchover from the normal Dark Matter Arcade Glyphics Campaign to Dark Matter Arcade Glyphics Campaign PLUS, the number of times you may augment an item will increase even if you have already augmented items that day.

Obtaining Vorseals
Speak to Affi, Dremi or Shiftrix to exchange escha silt for a vorseal. Upon entering an Eschan area or Reisenjima the vorseal(s)'s effect(s) will automatically be applied, and will last for two hours (Earth time).
- The escha silt will only be consumed upon purchasing the vorseal, not when the effect is activated upon re/entering Escha zones or Reisenjima.
- After two hours has passed or the effect has been manually deactivated, changing areas will reset the timer and reapply the effect.
New vorseals may be unlocked by a multitude of objectives, such as: progressing through various missions and quests, or defeating a number of Eschan monsters, or defeating notorious monsters that dwell in Escha zones.

Other armor and weapons cannot be upgraded but offer unique visual effects, formerly relegated to Pulse Panoplia only.

Eschalixirs
There are three varieties of Eschalixirs, which have increasingly potent effects on upgrading armor via Mezzotinting towards a higher rank in the armor augmentation process: Eschalixir, Eschalixir +1, and Eschalixir +2.
Upgradable armor and weapons can be "mezzotinted" with Eschalixirs by Nolan in Norg at (I-7). A preliminary mezzotinting process is performed after one of four different enhancement paths is selected. Mezzotinting does not require any eschalixira, but costs 1 silt to perform.
Eschalixirs can be obtained as direct drops from both regular monsters, lottery notorious NMs, and forced spawned NMs; with a bonus amount given with each level of Luck+ vorseals, as detailed above.
Eschalixirs can also be purchased for Escha Beads from Nolan in Norg at (I-7):
- Eschalixir: 10 Escha Beads
- Eschalixir +1: 50 Escha Beads
- Eschalixir +2: 2,000 Escha Beads
Reisenjima Stones
There are three varieties of augment stones, which have unique and diverse effects upon inscribing armor and weapons via arcane glyptics inscription in a similar fashion to Alluvion Skirmish Armor and weapons:
Upgradable armor and weapons can be "inscribed with arcane glyptics" via Oseem in Norg at (I-7).
Stones can be obtained as direct drops from both regular monsters, lottery notorious NMs, and forced spawned NMs on Reisenjima; with a bonus amount given with each level of Luck+ vorseals, as detailed above.
